Bigender
"Bigender" describes someone who has two distinct gender identities. It's a non-binary umbrella term, meaning they don't solely identify as male or female, but with two genders. For example, they might feel both masculine and feminine, or be agender (without gender) and another specific gender.
How these two genders show up is unique to each person. They might experience them simultaneously, switch between them over time, or express them differently in various situations. It's important to remember that everyone's experience with bigender is valid and personal.
While sometimes confused with bisexuality (which concerns sexual orientation), bigender is solely about gender identity, not who you're attracted to.
Just like any other identity, respecting and using preferred pronouns for bigender individuals is crucial in creating an inclusive and welcoming environment.
