Pansexual is a sexual orientation characterized by the potential for emotional, romantic, and/or sexual attraction to people regardless of their gender identity. This means that gender is not a determining factor in whether someone who is pansexual will be attracted to another person. Pansexuality is distinct from bisexuality, although there can be overlap in how individuals identify; while bisexuality is often understood as attraction to more than one gender, pansexuality explicitly includes attraction to all gender identities, including those beyond the binary of male and female.
